Vacation, yo!

I am officially back from vacation.  Oh wait, you didn't know I was on vacation?  Yeah, that is probably my fault.  I have been a bad blogger ever since my photo of the day project finished.  I decided to take a little break, but I feel I am back and recharged, not just for posting on my blog, but for visiting all you fellow bloggers, something I haven't done in probably over a month.

So where was I?  Well, we went on a cruise last week.  Some of our best friends got married on a cruise ship (I performed the ceremony!) and they wanted us to follow along on with them on their honeymoon.  Who were we to argue?!?!  We drove down on Sunday, boarded on Monday morning, cruised to Catalina Island on Tuesday, went to Ensenada on Wednesday, and then had a day at sea on Thursday before returning on Friday.  It was a great time filled with friends, fun, food, drinking, and plenty of memories.  Best time (since I am not good at listing detail after detail of an entire trip)?  It was probably when 7 of us went parasailing.  When it was Jess's turn to go, she told the person to only dunk her feet since she didn't bring her bathing suit.  So she took off, but then I paid the driver $20 to dunk her anyways.  It was so worth it!  And she was a good sport.  Needless to say, when it was my turn to go, I was in the water for a CONSIDERABLE amount of time.  Eh, I knew it was coming!

Anyways, here are a couple of my favorite pics from the cruise that I took...

Jessica's World Cup Perspective

I've been talking about writing this post for a while, and each time I mention it, Manuel stresses the importance of my making 100% sure you all understand this is ME, not HIM. You will see why shortly...

Last World Cup I wrote a post about my boyfriend, Cristiano Ronaldo. It has been 4 years, and while we're indeed still dating, we have an open relationship, and I've picked up a few new boyfriends, all from the Spanish national team:

Iker Casillas

Gerard Pique

Cesc Fabregas

David Villa

Looking at these pictures, including the pictures of Ronaldo from 4 years ago, there is a DEFINITE pattern to what I find attractive in a soccer guy, isn't there?!

So this is what the World Cup is about for me - eye candy! And now you know why Manuel wanted his name nowhere on this post...

Let the Games Begin!!!

World Cup 2010 kicks off in approximately 11 hours. Being the soccer fan I am, this is the ultimate, every 4 years experience. Imagine telling a football fan he only gets the Super Bowl every 4 years or telling a racing fan that Daytona is only every 4 years. It's torture. But when it comes....man...it is the ultimate high. Tomorrow, the fun finally begins again. I felt so inspired, I went out and took some pictures of a soccer field. There are three different pictures, but processed in a few different ways. Here is an example below. After checking it out, be sure ot check out the whole set.

Check out the set here.

And who do I think will win the whole thing? I am going with Spain winning their first ever World Cup. Let the games begin...

So What Happens Next?

Ok, so obviously I didn't start another year in pictures right after my last project ended ended on May 28th. I took a picture, and often, much more than one picture, for 365 straight days. I wasn't burnt out per se, but I felt a little break would refresh me and get me ready for future projects.

So am I going to start another picture a day project soon? Well, in short, no. BUT, it IS coming back. To kind of get it on a normal schedule, I am going to wait until Jan 1st to start back up again and make it year to year. So look for my picture a day project, year two, on January 1st.

But wait, does that mean I am not going to take any pictures between now and then? No pictures for over half a year? Of course not! I haven't really taken a picture in about a week and a half and I am already jonesing really bad. So what will I do? Well, between now and then, I have decided to do themed projects. What do I mean by this? Well, I am looking to do photo sets that have things in common. For example:

-Chimneys
-doors
-chairs
-The 7 deadly sins

And really, whatever comes to mind. Truthfully, I am open to ALL suggestions. Please send them my way and if it sounds good, it will go on the list. At the same time, I'd like to get out and do more photo shoots. So far, I have done toddlers, newborns, adults, pets, hell, even toys. I'd like to do more so feel free to contact me for your own photo shoot of some kind.

So again, throw me your photo theme ideas. I need a lot of them to fill the next 7 months! Thanks for following along...
