Saying bye to Daddy
I had a hard time deciding what pics to choose as my pics of the day from the wedding. Here is the link to the whole album if you have the time. Some good ones in there.

A little bit of a break and then some
This is going to be my last post for a few days. I might post again on Sunday night and if not, then sometime on Monday. Tomorrow, we are going out of town for Jessica's cousin's wedding. I can almost guarantee that the place (cabin) we are staying will not have internet connection so I am not going to even bother taking my laptop. I'll have the camera, of course, so I can keep up on my picture a day, but you won't be seeing these pictures for a few days.
So far I am LOVING this new camera of mine and I have been able to thank everyone on the list that was given to me of those who donated. I am still floored by the generosity.
I have finally uploaded all of my pictures from Disneyland. These were some of the last pictures that were taken before the camera was stolen. I am really happy with how a bunch of these came out and if you liked the fireworks over the castle picture I used as a pic of the day, there are a ton more. If you get a chance, please check them out here! I always like feedback if you find any of them comment worthy.
I think I am due for another burger/ice cream update as well as movie reviews. I think I should be able to get to those next week.
Halloween is right around the corner and Jess and I are starting to put the finishing touches on our costumes. I can't wait to show you the pictures!
And finally, the moment I am sure you all have been waiting for. Readers know how excited I am for the upcoming (next year) movie, The Expendables, the Stallone and co. action fest. Finally, there is a trailer. Looks like mindless action fun!

Slash jammin' at the beach at sunset.
(Ok, really, this background photo was taken from a photography book I have and the Slash figure is mine, but it makes a cool shot!)
This really does look better if you click on it to make it bigger...

October 13, 2009 - Day 138
I know I just did water drops, but it was the first rain of the season today. And BOY did it pour! Jess told me that it was the leftovers from the typhoon that hit recently. With that in mind, it is was no longer a surprise as the rain was friggin' crazy. Throw that in with a little, ok a LOT of wind, and you have yourself a pretty ugly today. It would have been nice to just stay in pajamas and a blanket on the sofa all day, but we had a ton of errands to run. Surprisingly, there were not too many idiots on the road today, a rarity for this kind of weather.

October 11, 2009 - Day 136
Who says you can't grow a tropical fruit like a guava in Sacramento, right in the central valley of California?!? My dad proved that wrong!
I also took a few more shots while I was over as well. There is always an abundance to shoot when I am over there. Sure, it takes him 3 hours a night to water everything, but it works for someone looking for a photo opportunity!

This little guy reminds me of Audrey 2...

October 9, 2009 - Day 134
I did some more fun with water today. I have actually been wanting to do this a while, but just didn't have the time. I had a hard time deciding which one to pic so I will just show all of them even though the first is the one I ended up going with as the official pic of the day. Special thanks to Jess for being the official fruit dropper.

The Power of Friendship
When I first started blogging, I did it to be part of a community. I saw the blogging world as a place where people could anonymously discuss topics that were all over the map while providing an outlet for letting out personal thoughts. It started off really slow for me; just a few comments from family members with no real interaction from the actual blogging world. Valkyrie was my first outside blogger to find my blog and from there, fellow bloggers seem to trickle in. I became part of a community and although I will probably never meet any of these people that I have come cherish, I consider them friends.
So where am I going with this? Well, I find it fits well to talk about the friendships I have come across as this is post number 1000 on my blog. I have been blogging for a while now and I have finally reached the 1000 post mark. But, I have even more to discuss when it comes to friendship.
I know it is cliche as hell, but I have always believed that if you are nice to people, they will (most of the time) be nice back. I have always tried to be the best friend I can to everyone I am close with - from bloggers to real world friends. From people I have known since preschool to people I have just met. A couple of days ago, I realized that I must be doing a good job at this friend thing.
As many of you already know, Jess and I have been going through a lot lately. From relatives with health issues to our unfortunate miscarriage last month, it has really been one bad thing after another. I haven't been talking about these things on the blog too much lately because I have had an outlet in my camera and the picture of the day. But then, because of a mistake and a dishonest citizen, I lost my camera. Suddenly I felt very empty. Although a camera is just an object, it really was the icing on the cake and my outlet was gone. I borrowed my sister's camera, the same exact camera to be exact, but it felt weird as it wasn't MINE. A purchase of a new camera was on the horizon, but I had to come up with some funds first.
Unbeknownst to me, my friends were already on top of it. I found out earlier this week that some friends of mine had sent out a message/email to people that Jess and I were friends with and told them about our situation if they didn't know already. They asked for donations out of the goodness of their hearts to help replace the camera that was taken. And you know what, the requests were met. Our friends were able to raise around $200 for Jess and I to use towards the purchase of a new camera. $200! They didn't have to give money; I consider them friends already. But to see that the friends cared enough to give money to me to help rectify something that was mostly my mistake is amazing. It is touching. And you know what is awesome? I still don't have the list of who these people are who donated so I can thank and yet, nobody has come out to say, "Yeah, I donated." Nobody has come out to toot their own horn and brag about giving money. And why? Because they did it out of the goodness of their hearts. I plan to thank each and every one of these people, but nobody feels the need to let me know to receive their thanks. They know it is coming.
So, what did I learn? Friendship is a powerful thing. It helps to be nice to everyone because in times of need, friends really do come through, sometimes in ways you would have NEVER expected. I have some great friends and I truly am thankful for that. Whether it be in the real world, or people I have met after 1000 posts on this blog, I am truly blessed.

Day 126 - October 1, 2009
Yes, it was one of those days. I put in a 12 hour work day and don't think working from home means it is all easy. I had to end the day with a big cup of warm beverage.
