When I cook, I have this habit where I have to take all the ingredients out first and line them all up in the order I use them. Only way to make sure I don't forget to add anything! I was preparing my kick ass meatloaf!
Oh, I don't know, Jess...I rather enjoy looking at nicely-photographed foods. :)
Your habit is pretty common-sense, actually. From what I've read, it's pretty common practice, when writing a recipe, to list ingredients in order of use, so much so that listing ingredients out of order is grounds for disqualification in some cooking contests. I always found such a overly strict, and yet it makes perfect sense. I should probably get into the habit of lining up ingredients in order as well; I tend to stress out less in the kitchen when I'm organized.
Cool picture; based on the lineup your meatloaf must be awesome!
Ingredients in a recipe should be in the order of use. That is the only way to make sure you don't forget anything. Very clever son both in how you cook and also in your photography. I'd love to taste your meatloaf someday. I love meatloaf and love meatloaf sandwiches!!!
I'd love to taste this meatloaf of yours someday. I used to think mine was pretty good. Nice picture. I do the same thing when I cook. Preparation is the key. I also clean up while I cook. I hate a mess. See you tomorrow. Hugs, Nani
Manuel's meatloaf is too good to disguise in a sandwich. When I used to make the meatloaf he'd put it in a sandwich, but he eats his meatloaf plain because it is THAT good.
Nani, I wish Manuel had the same logic as you - clean as he goes... :-)
It makes it much easier and way more organized.. Hope your "kick-ass" Meatloaf tasted great.. I have a secret ingredient that I use in mine.. well a couple actually..

It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! You can make that any day, no joke! DELICIOUS!!!
This is a nice way to document your specialty dish. I think it's probably more appealing than looking at a hunk of cooked meat, albeit delicious!!

I tend not to be a huge fan of meatloaf, but your fans have me curious about yours :-)

I like the cooking shows where each ingredient is already pre-measured and in little cups or bowls. I want to do that one of these days.
Meatloaf sounds really good.
Mmmmmm. I haven't had meatloaf in forever. That, with mashed potatoes and gravy are my favorite comfort foods.
