Unlocking Possibilities

Had more fun this evening with the macro lens. I tried to get a picture of the side of Jessica's eye, but I just could not get it to focus. Her long eyelashes kept getting in the way and both automatic and manual focus failed me. It is too bad too because you get to see a totally different view of the eye when viewed from the side. It's really cool. I'll keep working at it.

With that attempt being too blurry for picture of the day, I decided to try my macro on the keyhole of the front door. I figured at macro level, it would almost look like a cave. It ended up looking even cooler than I had hoped for. From the beginning, I knew I wanted it to be in black and white. It looked cool and I was happy, but I messed with the contrast and shadows a little and became amazing. I like it because it is clearly a keyhole, but on the other hand, with the shadows and the lines (scratches) all around it, it almost looks like an abstract picture.

January 21st, 2010 - Day 238

Having fun with it, I decided to make some alterations and came up with this. I like it because it kind of looks like the sun. It's fun to mess around with your photos.

Those are both reall cool pictures. That lens is so amazing. I would never even think that you would have so many scratches next to the keyhole. Simply amazing.

Wow, that's freaking awesome! I have so many things I want to say but nothing that will do this picture justice. It's just awesome though and I'm IN LOVE with what you're doing with your news lens.

That looks really cool. I like the color on it too.

That second one looks like the eye of Sauron from LOTR!

Surreal! It is amazing how the use of color (or not) really affects what we see when we look at something like that.

This is definitely one of those pictures where, without an explanation from you, I might never have guessed what it was!
