Where Everybody Knows Your Name

I have had my bar almost a year now, well, maybe 8 months or so, but I don't think I have really taken a picture of it before. At least I don't think I have. I decided to make that the focus of my pic of the day. I made some glasses that I got for Christmas the centerpiece of my picture.

January 27th, 2010 - Day 244

What is funny is I used to not drink at all. In fact, I hated the taste of alcohol. Then a couple of years ago, my friends and I were out at a bar for a birthday and they wanted me to drink so they told me to try something called Tuaca. It had more of a sweet taste than the normal, all I taste is alcohol, and from there it took off. Tuaca became vodka-cran which became Captain and coke which became shots of tequila. Suddenly, I like drinking. I wouldn't say I am crazy about it as I never drink when I am alone just to drink. I just find it more fun when I am with my friends and we are having a good time. I still don't like beer, only really like wine that is white, and think scotch is god awful. But it feels nice to be able to be a social drinker now with my friends and not have to always ask for a Shirley Temple to mix it up. And I LOVE tequila. Man, do I love tequila.

As my picture of the day was a close up shot, I took an alternate shot so you could see much more of the bar...

A few thoughts:

I've most definitely lost my DD... Ah, those were the days when I knew I could drink it up and not worry about getting home because my man wasn't a drinker.

Those glasses you got for Christmas are nice. And the ones you picked up while in Mexico, you have quite a nice serving collection going.

Is it the fact that I'm up at 430am or is the color in both pictures a bit drowned out? Not a criticism at all - I like it; somehow makes the pictures more elegant.

I can't drink liquor. usually, I just have a couple of glasses of wine or beer.

Your bar looks really cool.

Wow, what a set-up! Very professional looking, really.

Not much of a drinker myself, but I can do the occasional glass of wine or have a little rum & Coke.

I love those engraved glasses!

I used to only drink beer and only like white wine. A friend of a friend insisted I try red wine, but to me it tasted so bitter. Then I found a red wine with a slightly sweeter taste, and now I'm a red wine fan.

I love your setup. The bar itself is a beautiful piece that manages to be aesthetically pleasing and functional at the same time. The close-up shot is intimate, giving a hint of all your bar has to offer, while the wider shot gives an expanded look at your wares. Somehow both shots feature great depth despite the lack of color.

I had no idea there was a time when you didn't drink. What's noteworthy is the fact that your rotation seems to be the opposite of mine: I started with tequila, then switched to rum and Coke when I became of legal age to drink, and eventually did a stint as a vodka cran drinker in my late twenties as it was the official drink of my wife's family for awhile. Looks like I'll be drinking Tuaca next! :)

Well of course you love Tequila. It's in your blood. Your bar is very nice and it is amzing how it is grown in both glasses and booze since you first bought it.

Nice picture.
