September 21, 2009 - Day 116

A rose by any other name....

I still have a bunch of Disneyland pics to upload as well as a LOOOOOONNGGG overdue burger and ice cream update. With vacation last week and the depressing times of the week before, I am way behind on work so that has to take priority, but the above things are coming, I promise!

September 19, 2009 - Day 114

What fortune lies ahead? See in the biggest view possible...the fortune is peeking out.

September 18, 2009 - Day 113

The Happiest Place on Earth

We are home, and it was an absolutely wonderful and magical time. I still have a bunch of photos to go through and will post them in the coming days, but this was a nice way to end our trip...

September 14, 2009 - Day 109

The view from the balcony of our hotel. This place is beautiful.

September 13, 2009 - Day 108

The night before our Disneyland adventure, the tickets were ready.

September 12, 2009 - Day 107

On Saturday, some friends came over and made us dinner. So nice and thoughtful of them. Fire helped these steaks along...

And We're Out...

Jess and I have decided that with everything that has gone on, we should leave for vacation a day early so we are off in a couple of hours for Disneyland. We just need to get away from town and forget about everything that has happened so leaving a day early should help. Probably won't get a chance to blog or do pictures until Monday night so come back then for Sat-Mon pictures of the day and an update on our trip. Sorry that I haven't been commenting on blogs the last week or so; it has been a pretty up and down time and things should be back to normal once I get back from vacation next week. Until then, see you all Monday from the Happiest Place On Earth! (Which we need right about now!)

September 10, 2009 - Day 105

It is pretty embarrassing when your name is "Spiderman" and you still end up with spider webs stuck on your hands!

Much better in large size...

September 9, 2009 - Day 104

After the devastating news Jess and I received today about our failed pregnancy, holding hands on the sofa is really what we needed.

I have said it once on here and I will say it again; it amazes me that certain people are blessed with a child. People that consider it an inconvenience, people that mistreat their children, people that are unable to care for their children, etc. Then there are people like us. People who want nothing more than to be parents. People who bring the child into an amazing family full of nothing but love and support. People who would be wonderful parents and yet, are not blessed with the opportunity. Life can bite me.

September 8, 2009 - Day 103

As my mom was in the hospital all day in surgery, we didn't get home until after 11:00 PM and with time running out on the picture of the day opportunity, I decided to just grab a quick snapshot of Mr. Orko.

September 5th, 2009 - Day 100

Well, long time readers of the blog know this is a long time coming. After five years of trying, two VERY early miscarriages, and even lost money trying to do it the artificial way, we are going to have a baby. Words cannot express the joy we are experiencing right now. We found out a few weeks ago and this past Wednesday, we were able to see our baby's heartbeat on the ultrasound monitor. We know we have a long, difficult time ahead of us, and in fact, we have already had plenty of scares, but at this moment in time, everything is fine with the world.

We started telling our folks on Wednesday, told some friends last night, and broke the word today. How fitting that the news many have been waiting to hear comes out on such an important day. Day 100 of my photo project, and even more importantly, today, September 5th, 2009, is the 20th anniversary of the day Jessica and I met. Sure, when we met on that first day of 6th grade 20 years ago, we never could even remotely imagine how our futures would end up at this moment, but it's funny how things work...

September 4th, 2009 - Day 99

Satellite in my eyes
Like a diamond in the sky
How I wonder.
