Does Whatever A Spider Can...

Posting two pics of the day today plus an alternate.

Yesterday's pic of the day was kind of a last minute thing. Jess was feeling pretty tired yesterday and wanted to just veg in bed in front of the tv pretty early. So, we were in bed watching tv by 8 and I hadn't taken a pic yet, so I took the camera to bed and just looked around the bedroom for things to shoot. The lamp on my bedside table looked to be the best option at that moment.

January 6th, 2010 - Day 223

Today I decided to photograph one of my Bowen statues as I hadn't done that in a LONG while. I decided to go with Spiderman. I took 2 shots with alternate views and although I had to go with one for pic of the day, I LOVE both of them.

In other news, today I ordered my first Macro lens for my camera using money I got for Christmas. It is supposed to get here next Thursday and I could not be more excited. The amount of things I am able to shoot just went up exponentially!

That lamp picture is so cool!!! Spiderman is great as all your statue pictures are but the lamp is awesome. Thank you Jess for wanting to veg.

I also think the lamp looks amazing. I can't say exactly what I like so much about it, but it's an awesome picture.

Spiderman is also a great picture, although I can say I like the one you chose as picture of the day best.

You are doing so well on and I am so enjoying this adventure. I can hardly wait to see what amazing things you can capture with your macro lens. I know you've been wanting one for a long time so I'm happy you finally got it.

I love the lamp picture. I like the way you've captured the curve of the lamp post, the faint reflection therein, and the shading and texture on the lampshade. Additionally, the individual tiny balls of the pull chain are nicely realized.

And you can never go wrong with Spidey! I think I like the first one best; the focus on his face nicely illustrates the workmanship that went into that statue.

All great photos! The lamp feels...quiet. I like both Spideys, but my favorite is the first. I think because they blurring in the foreground maybe feels a little like motion...like he is actually brandishing his web slinging arm towards the viewer.
I cannot wait to see what you can do with the macro lens!

All your pictures are fantastic. I would rather be interested to see if you can get the minute facets of a gemstone or a diamond, with your lenses. :)
Great stuff over all.

The site called "Stuff on My Cat" has photos of "macrovision". The detailed photos are amazing. Have fun!

I like the lampshade shot, and the first Spidey photo.

You do have a talent for picking subjects for your images. Great captures. I like the spidy with the blurry hand and a clear face.
