A Missed Opportunity

I just realized that I missed an important date last month. Last month was the 5 year anniversary of this blog! I have been so focused on this photo project that the date completely slipped my mind. I can hardly believe I have lasted this long. In fact, as probably all of you know, I even quit sometime in 2008(?) for about a month before I came crawling back. It has been a great ride and I have met some truly amazing people along the way! Thanks to you all!

The last two days of pictures are some Christmas gifts Jess and I both got. In fact, there are a few more gifts I received that I know will make it on to the picture of the day as well. For now, here are the last two days...

I got Jess a new, colorful lunch bag for Christmas!

January 2nd, 2010 - Day 219

We got a GPS for Christmas! We usually just use Mapquest, but there have been a few opportunities where we didn't plan to look it up ahead of time and it just seems easier to use a GPS than looking it up on the cell phone. So, we asked, and we received. Today, I gave it a try...

5 years, get out... I remember when you quit for a little bit; I was SO sad. I enjoy reading things you have to say, and now, with the photo of the day project, I look forward to your posts even more. You have a great blog and lots of good friends from it and I hope it lasts forever.

I LOVE my new lunch bag! It is MUCH better than the plain black plastic thing I stole from the formula rep years ago. I've gotten a few compliments on it already.

The GPS will come in handy when we venture out on new adventures. I look forward to seeing what kinds of trouble it can get us into/out of.

Happy Bloggiversary! Five years...wow!

I love Jess' new lunch bag and a GPS sounds mighty handy. I'm not all that good at orienting myself, so it would be quite useful.

We have to mapquest everything and we still get turned around. I don't know if a GPS would help. LOL!
Congratulations on your 5 year Blogaversary! I love visiting and all your pictures are great. I hope you never quit again. That was an empty time for me. Hugs sweetie. Nani

It is hard to believe that it has been 5 years. It's been wonderful sharing your pictures, stories, adventures, etc. I look forward to them everyday and I am always sad when you don't have a post. I, too, missed you when you were gone. The friends you have met along this five year journey are amazing as well. Here's to many, many, many more years!!!

Enjoy the GPS; we've had ours for several years and honestly have no clue how we survived without it. I know people say that about every technological advancement these days, i.e. cell phones, the internet, Facebook, video games and whatnot; but without GPS I can honestly say I would probably be crawling through the desert at this very moment, searching for water as vultures circled overhead.
