Rosemary

The rain has been pretty intense the last couple of days and it is expected to continue for the next few days. I am sure there are still PLENTY of things that I could photograph in my house, but I want to get out and about shoot things outside as well. Luckily, there just happened to be a short break in the rain and I quickly grabbed my camera and went outside. There were a few mini flowers on the rosemary plant we have outside so I decided to shoot those. I am still getting the hang of the new lens, but I was pretty happy with them, especially considering how small the flowers actually are. You get to see all 5 of the ones I was happy with with the first one of course being picture of the day. Have a favorite?

It was tough helping you choose a photo of the day, but I think we chose wisely. I really like all of the different things pictured in the one we chose - the flower and the projecting parts (stamen and pistil?) and the buds and the leaves. The colors of each of those parts are so cool too - light purple, dark purple, bluish purple, pinkish purple, dark green and white. Also, in the other pictures there are different details that make the picture so interesting - the buds look fuzzy and the drops of water are cool. Overall, a fantastic set today!

These are beautiful! I love the smell of rosemary, I remember eating a roasted chicken that was covered with rosemary seeds. Sooo good.

I can't decide which one I like. they are all so different. Very cool. They almost look alien like. I love your new lens!!! I'm glad you haven't forgotten about the great outdoors.

Beautiful. I can almost feel how cold and moist the air must have been. I can almost smell that distinctive rosemary aroma.

If I had to pick a favorite I think I'd go with the third. There's something about the blurriness of the petals in the background, compared with the sharpness of the stamen/pistil in the foreground. For some reason that shot looks almost like it was taken underwater. Good work!
