Rain, death, and getting down low.

We had some pretty good rain on Thursday so after getting home from seeing Avatar at the movies, I decided to take a picture of the hood of the car.

February 4th, 2010 - Day 252

Friday was a sad day. Friday, the PS3 in my living room finally died. As some of you may remember, I got my Playstation 3 on the day the day they came out, nearly 3 and a half years ago. I even camped two nights in front of Target to get it! It's always cool to get the first release of something, but then you run the risk of problems that haven't quite been figured out yet and an early death. In fact, I know many people whose version 1 systems died way before mine so I guess I should be thankful it lasted this long. I brought the PS3 from our bedroom into the living room until I get a new one, but I felt it would make a good photo opportunity to do a proper funeral.

February 5th, 2010 - Day 253

Remember the other day when I mentioned I needed a tripod that could get really low to the ground? Well, my buddy read that post and gave me his mini tripod that he never uses. Cool! This will come in really handy!

I know you aren't too fond of it, but the shot of the raindrops is really awesome. The surrounding color warms up what really could be a cold picture. The drops are so clear.

It was a sad day when the PS3 died, but we knew it was coming. That was a very nice, um, honor you paid the machine, after it gave you so many hours of entertainment.

Brandon is a good friend to think of your tripod need and give you his mini-pod. I can't wait to see what you can get from down low low low...

Nice pictures and a very nice memorium for a dear friend!!!

I thought that tripod was something you had rigged out of candy somehow. Cool that Brandon had it and gave it to you. It can only make your pictures even better.

Cool pic of the car hood.. we still have systems from years ago that are still in working condition.. No one seems to play them ..That tripod looks like it's made out of chocolate peanut butter Cups!

Your PS3 is not really dead if you find a way to remember it. You have my sympathy, though. R.I.P, PS3..

I like the raindrops photo too. I think it's the color that sets such a strong mood for me.

At least you know your PS3 had a good, if not long, life.

Oh, and I too love the raindrop shot.

Manuel's not too fond of the first shot? I love it! The color, the contrast between the clarity of the raindrops in the foreground and the blurriness of the background - excellent composition overall, I think.

The PS3 in its casket is a whimsical one. I can think of few gamers who'd think to honor a beloved console thusly.

I really love that picture of the hood of the car, one of my favorites.

And great news about the tripod... those things can come in handy.
