October 28, 2009 - Day 153

I didn't have time for as many shots tonight, but I still managed to get in a few! The top one is my picture of the day and then the usual alternates.

Thoughts on today's photo of the day: I am suddenly craving S'mores! This photo brilliantly captures the feeling I had when, as just a wee child, I first watched the climax of Ghostbusters. Here was this several-stories-tall behemoth rampaging through New York City, and yet rather than a giant ape or a fire-breathing giant lizard, it was a sailor suit-wearing marshmallow man. At age eight, I found it at once scary and absurd. The low angle is perfect for the subject; it is as though we are on the ground, watching this colossal advertising mascot towering above us.

Thoughts on the others: The shadows in the corners of the second and third alternate pictures of Stay Puft are used to great effect; it almost looks like Stay Puft is posing for a picture at Sears' Portrait Studio. The shot of Freddy's shadow on the ground is an excellent accompaniment to his boiler room photo shoot from yesterday. And I would hope that, between meeting Tony Todd and being able to manipulate his action figure into any pose you want, you've about licked your fear of Candyman. I've always wondered if Candyman stands in front of the mirror and says his own name. Now I know the answer!

It actually looks like it's a different subject when looked from the different angles. You are brilliant seƱor.

It was fun to help you today, thanks for including me in your adventure.

To me, these pictures are just ok, not as good as the last 2 days, but fun all the same. Keep it up, what will you do for today?!

"Well there's something you don't see everyday!"

Love the Stay Puft Marshmallow man, and I love what you did with the shadow shot of Freddy Kruegar!

Dr Ray Stantz: I tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something I loved from my childhood. Something that could never ever possibly destroy us. Mr. Stay Puft!

Love the atmospheric lighting!

I can see why you are posting all the pics because it is hard to pick a favorite.

This has definitely been a good week for your pics.
