Time to catch up on pictures again. Friday's picture didn't get up on Friday because I didn't take it until the very end of the day. What happened? Well, time got the best of me and I spent the last couple of hours playing some Rock Band, singing my guts out on the microphone. So, when the night was over, and with time running out, I took a picture of what I had been using.
Saturday, we went to the Home and Garden show here in town and got a lot accomplished. We have a few people coming for estimates on various projects around the house and we even put a down payment on a spa. Of course, it is refundable, and it will all depend on how we do on our taxes next month, but we could be getting a spa. I am keeping fingers crossed.
Saturday night was poker night. I was knocked out somewhat early so I took the opportunity to take some pictures. I especially liked the following one, despite being a tiny bit out of focus on the cards, because this hand actually knocked out the guy in the background, Uncle Gary, a minute later. Photography foreshadowing!
Today was spent watching some soccer in the morning and the midday was spent over at Jessica's folks' house. Anxious to get my pictures up, I took a quick picture of a fertility idol we recently got in the mail from some friends. Cute little guy...
I hope you all had a good weekend.

That microphone picture rocks. I like the way the cord is artfully curled beneath it and the focus is on the top of the microphone - who knew there was so much weaving detail?!
That is a great poker action shot. You can tell Uncle Gary is thinking hard...
That fertility idol actually looks like a piece of art in our bedroom; her coloring looks great against our dark brown wall. Hopefully she does more than decorate, huh?
Do you still have the Idol I gave you? Maybe the two of them can get something going. Love the pictures. Especially, the microphone one. Hugs, Nani
We didn't go to the Home and Garden show this year, but it's usually fun.
But can your idol sing?
That poker pic is my favorite. It's like photo theater.
Ooh, I love the fertility idol! Very cool. Those are great shots, MrManuel.
That microphone picture is a great shot. It would look great in my media room. hint not meant.
The other two are great shots two. Hopefully the idol will be more than just a decoration! dmarks is very clever by the way!!!
The picture of the microphone is phenomenal. The thatching of the windscreen is vividly-realized, and contrasts wonderfully with the blurry, dark handle. Expert use of shadow throughout the piece! It looks like it should be framed and hung in someone's recording studio.
Good luck with the fertility idol. Katie's parents had one at their house for years, but it disappeared last summer, shortly after we found out we were expecting. Strangest thing...
I like that blurriness of the cards.. It's not so out of focus to the point of not reconizing what the picture is.. I think the microphone pic is awesome! Nice little Idol there.. ! May it bring you the pitter-patter of tiny feet!
