September 21, 2009 - Day 116

A rose by any other name....

I still have a bunch of Disneyland pics to upload as well as a LOOOOOONNGGG overdue burger and ice cream update. With vacation last week and the depressing times of the week before, I am way behind on work so that has to take priority, but the above things are coming, I promise!

The red of the rose is full and vivid, and made moreso by the fact that the color has been removed - or apparently just dialed way down, as I detect minute traces of red in the shadows near the bottom of the shot - in the rest of the picture. Viewed at the original resolution, the texture of the rose is beautifully captured. Also, the use of shadow throughout the rest of the photo (especially the lower half) is well-done, and the aforementioned tinge of color on Jess' fingers (at least, I assume it's Jess holding the rose) adds a touch of warmth.

The rose looks like something imagined, rather than seen. A haunting sort of shot.

I really like this one. It's like watching someone's dream.

Very nice work. A picture like this is always a welcome addition to your collection.

Sal's comment sounds so educated! I wish I could be that articulate... This is a good picture, a lot better than I thought it would turn out. I like the contrast of the color of the rose against the removed color of my scrubs. This is a very pretty picture and I agree with Churlita - it IS like watching a dream.

Lovely image. You know I post a picture a day in my Arizona... But It's a Dry Heat! Photo blog and our styles are totally different. Starting with the fact that I only own a small Panasonic point and shoot digital camera. I try to capture a good image you create your images.
