Well, Hell, I mean, Sacramento, has frozen over. Yes, early this morning, we had snow. Snow in the Central Valley of California. Not in the mountains. Not at some ski resort, but here in Sacra-freakin-Mento. We heard it might be coming, and I even considered waking up SUPER early to try and catch the snow falling, but of course, I like sleep too much. But when I woke up this morning, there it was. Snow had fallen over night and it was still on the ground somewhat. Now, when I say snow, it isn't something like you East Coasters or Idaho people or whatever get. It really just looked like an excessive amount of frost on the ground. But it was definitely snow. In fact, on top of our trash can was enough that I could have made a snowball. It was kind of cool. We don't get that here. In fact, although I seem to remember some falling, but not sticking to the ground in my lifetime, one report said it was the first snow here since 1976 - 2 years before I was even born. So, yeah, it was pretty exciting. I am not ready to pack up and move to somewhere where I would have to shovel snow. Hell no. But for a brief time, it was kind of cool to see. The link to the rest of the pictures I took today is below.
SNOW!!!

Aw, you should've made a snowball and froze it in your freezer! Then you'd have it as a memento for a little while.
It was snowing a bit here yesterday, but nothing stuck to the ground. I'm not ready for Winter yet.
He he he, we are so silly about the snow! That's all that was on the news yesterday morning too. I had a patient from Vermont and she was laughing at us - get a tiny bit of snow and it's the top news story. I told her the same thing - no sticking snow for over 30 years, cut us some slack. She said, "You Californians and your sunshine..."
I'm glad you got some pictures. I didn't get to see much except the cars with it on the windows on the way to work. I've never been happier I can park in the garage!! The night shifters at work said they saw it fall - big, fat, fluffy flakes.
I grew up in Arizona and I remember once, a neighbor kids dad driving up to the mountains to bring us snow, but it all melted and just looked like chunks of ice by the time he got back to Mesa.
Brrrrr. and some claim that global warming is not happening and that Al Gore is crazy. We had a little strom-like rain last night. It was loud, and it was crazy. Back to your picture, I like the angle you pickec to capture the image. Good job seƱor!
Oh, and your snow looks more like ice, ice, baby!
As a fellow Californian I know just what you mean. We'd get so excited if we got a little snow fall! But only a little...after all, that is one of the reasons we live in CA :-)
Nice pictures darling. I liked all the angles you took. It was kind of cool to see but I was not about to wake up early to see snow falling. I hate being cold so this weather has absolutely sucked for me. I didn't get to see much early in the morning going to work because it was dark. I'm glad my car is finally back in the garage - it made it just in time otherwise I would have not been a happy camper. Bring me sunshine and heat any day!!!
Churlita: What you described is close to the plotline of the movie and book "The Mosquito Coast"
Wow! You guys definitely got more snow than we did in Roseville, or at least more than I did in my neighborhood. I actually stayed up to watch it fall, and though it looked beautiful as it fell beneath the street lights on my block I was disappointed to watch each snowflake melt the instant it touched the ground.
