I Wanna Rock!

January 19th, 2011 - Day 19

"If it's illegal to rock and roll, throw my ass in jail!"

-Kurt Cobain

In honor of the craptacular, good for nothing, piece of garbage show American Idol starting back up today, I present to you some REAL music. Simple, but it gets my point across. :-)
Bonus points if you can name every artist and CD in this picture. There are 21 of them.

I don't understand, never have, the popularity of that show! I think it is unwatchable trash!
I see Hotel California. :-)

I can, I can, but no fair, because I own the CDs...

I love the Kurt Cobain quote - it's a good quote by a great musician. I dig the American Idol slap in the face too - worst show ever! Lots of colors in the picture, and I think the black background makes everything stand out so much more. I think the light coming from the left is a cool effect; more interesting than an overhead light would have been.

I love this picture. It reminds me of last year when you took the picture of all your soccer shirts. I love the quote as well!

I watched 1/8ths of a season of "American Idol", and that was eons ago, while Paula Abdul was a judge.

Anyway, hmm, let's see. I see...

Metallica
Stone Temple Pilots
AC/DC
Def Leppard
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Queen
Kid Rock?
Pearl Jam
Dave Matthews Band
Santana?

That's all I've got, but thanks for letting me play!

I'm posting incognito tonight. That's right, it's been so long since I logged in with my Blogger account that I forgot my login and password. Anyway, here goes:

Under the Table and Dreaming (Dave Matthews Band)
Texas Flood (Stevie Ray Vaughan)
Hooray for Boobies (Bloodhound Gang)
Slippery When Wet (Bon Jovi)
The History of Rock (Kid Rock)
Ten (Pearl Jam)
Classic Queen (Queen)
Core (Stone Temple Pilots)
Hysteria (Def Leppard)
Appetite for Destruction (Guns and Roses)
All Time Greatest Hits (Lynyrd Skynyrd)
The Sickness (Disturbed)
Undertow (Tool)
Nevermind (Nirvana)
Back in Black (AC/DC)
Van Halen (Van Halen)
Nevermind (Nirvana)
Hotel California (Eagles)
Greatest Hits (Boston)

One of the two of which I'm unsure is the Marilyn Manson CD on the left-hand side of the picture. I know the image, and I want to say it's from Antichrist Superstar, but I know the cover of Antichrist Superstar is different. Maybe it's from a foreign release or re-release; if not I've got nothin'.

The other one I'm blanking on is the CD at bottom-left. I have no idea about that one. Something by Incubus maybe?

Not bad for a guy who rarely - if ever - looks at album covers when listening to music. When I rock out, I do it digitally.

PS: American Idol sucks!

Shoot me I'm weird but up to last year I never missed an American Idol season. Just because of the new judges I may give it a shot this year.

Besides Mexican music, I grew up listening to soul and disco music, to this day I can't understand most of the music you have on your pic, rock had never been my thing.

I have a feeling AI will continue to do just fine although ratings will gradually keep going down.

I do love the Eagels, are they considered a rock band?

American Idol person in the hizzouse! haha! You know I watch, because it amuses me :-)

In spite of that, in other ways our musical tastes sometimes reach a common ground. You know, I still enjoy the angry CD I won from you!!!

I've only seen that show once, because I was at a friend's house and they were watching it there. I don't get it.
