Regal

So here we go with the first, but probably not the last picture of the day featuring our boy Winston.  When I first did this project, I took a handful of pictures of our dogs Leia and Orko.  I even had to document the passing away of Orko near the end of the year-long project.  But then again, I documented a lot of life changing events in that year.  I guess that was one of the reasons that made that project so special and memorable.

But back to the picture at hand (sorry for going off on a sad tangent there).  I went outside to take a picture, but with the light not right and Clan Night approaching, I snapped a quick picture on Winston.  Somehow, I got him when he was still as he never is unless he is sleeping.  Even here, I think he was slightly moving.  We love that boy.

No need to apologize, that was our year, that was our life, sad as it was. I sometimes look back and wonder if you were, in a way, meant to document that year with everything that happened. It HAD to have been meant to be, with that easily being the worst year of our lives, filled with so much loss. Let's aim for this year to be the complete opposite - filled with so much joy and happiness!

Back to Winston... He does look regal in this picture, with his head straight ahead and the angle looking up at him. He indeed never is still, but that's the puppy in him; he's only 4.5 months old after all! He looks a bit scruffily in this picture though... As soon as he's had all of his shots, that will be his first adventure into the big world - the groomer!!

Yup, best to capture those moments of stillness when you can! What a cute pup.

He does look quite majestic there. You could do a subseries...the many moods of Winston :-)

"Your" year in pictures is what made it special. We wouldn't have wanted it any other way. You didn't apologize then for what you were going through and no need to apologize now. That is life - the good and the bad and we love you for it.

Perfect title for Sir Winston because that is what that picture reminds me of. He is so darn cute and this is a perfect shot.
