November 10, 2009 - Day 166

I think this acorn really has the feel of the season. In fact, and this isn't a hint, this pic might even look good framed and put up on a wall during the Halloween season. Of course, you really need to see this in large size to fully get what I am talking about. Lots of detail that way.

Great shot of a very stylized and unique-looking pumpkin! As is frequently the case, the enlarged photo features many textural facets not obvious when viewed at a smaller size. Additionally, the effect of the light reflections on the surface of the pumpkin and the darkness at the bottom left (is it a shadow, or the actual shade of that part of the pumpkin?) contrast nicely.

I actually changed the description from a pumpkin to an acorn. Sal is not just a crack smoker for calling it a pumpkin over and over. He just commented before I changed it.

Sal IS a crack smoker!! :-)

I'm glad you took my suggestion for today's subject. It turned out really well... I really like it - very warm and reflective of the Fall season.

Leave my substance abuse problem out of this. :)

Upon a subsequent look, it resembles an acorn much more than it does a pumpkin. Thanks, Manuel, for backing me up and not commenting along the lines of, "Pumpkin? Can't you read, idiot?" :)

I thought Sal was just trying to make a point to you that it was a pumpkin and not an acorn. Whatever it is this is a great picture. I agree - I think it would look great on a wall for the Fall season - not just Halloween. But I could never decorate for anything except Christmas.
