Getting closer....

...to my birthday that is. Well, a little over a week away, but that has nothing to do with this post. I just couldn't think of a title.

I really don't have a lot to blog about except movie reviews (and I don't feel like doing all those right now), but I felt like I should blog as they have been very few and far between the last couple of weeks. I'll just update you on some things...

Jess has now been back working at the hospital for six weeks and I am really enjoying it so far. Three 12 hour shifts is completely different than five eight hour shifts. For one, she occasionally has to work weekends. However, seeing as how her schedule changes weekly, it isn't every weekend that she has to work. And really, it doesn't matter if she has to work on a weekend seeing as how I work from home anyway. I can always work on a Sunday while she is at work and then take off Monday when she is home. It is nice having a flexible job like that. So basically, now I get to spend four days a week with her instead of the normal two for a Monday - Friday job. It means I have to cook three nights a week now as she doesn't get home until about 730, but it is all worth it.

This weekend we are celebrating a very special event. On Saturday we are having a dual party of sorts as we will celebrating my grandpa's 90th birthday as well as his marriage to my grandma for their 60th anniversary. I obviously consider them both to be awesome accomplishments. I especially cannot believe my grandpa is 90 as he acts and looks nothing like someone is turning 90 years old. I made a video for the party that I am pretty proud of and excited to show. I'll make sure to take plenty of pictures. Until then, that is probably it from here until Sunday when I come and upload pictures from the party. I'll have them up a couple of days so...

...have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend everybody!!!

Glad to hear you and Jess are enjoying Jess' new work schedule. She's obviously less stressed than she was before, and the fact that you guys get to spend more time together on top of that is awesome. I'm seriously jealous, as Katie has worked much longer hours this year than she did last year, and given California's budget situation it's likely she'll be looking for work at the end of this school year anyway.

Congratulations on your grandparents' milestone, and Happy Birthday to your grandfather! Ninety years old and sixty years married is truly a rarity! My last grandparent passed away several years ago; you're very lucky to still have your grandparents in your life. I hope you have a great time at the party, and that everyone loves the video.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone!

Jessica's schedule does work better for you now that you are working from home. I know when you were a teacher it made it harder with her schedule. I can't remember if she was still at the hospital when you were doing real estate. Either way, it's nice to have 4 days together. You get to do so much more.

Looking forward to the party on Saturday as well. I know your video is going to be awesome. Grandma is a little afraid of what you are going to do with the picture(s)/movie(?) you took yesterday since she was "raggedy" as she says. But I told her whatever you do, we love them that way.

I'm looking forward to the pictures you take. It should be great.

Oh, and yes, your birthday countdown is defintely closer and I know you are anxiously looking forward to it.

See you soon and love ya!

When you were a teacher, working yourself Monday through Friday with weekend off, it was hard for our schedules to jive, most especially when I worked weekends. When you did real estate, you went to the office Monday through Friday and did open houses on the weekends, so while it was better than when you were a teacher, it still wasn't as good as it is now. I am SO thankful you are your own boss, that you don't have someone else to answer to. I LOVE that you can take a weekday off; it makes having to work a weekend meaningless - we make our own weekends. And we have the opportunity to have 4 day weekends every week!

I am very much looking forward to celebrating your grandparents this weekend. They are both great people and just another example of how blessed I am to have married into such an awesome family.

And for the record, I love you more than you will ever know. Just wanted to remind you...

Did he need reminding Jessica?

Congratulations and happy birthday to your grand dad.

Three days a week, even long ones, would be pretty okay with me.

Wow, congratulations on their 60th anniversary, too! And 90? What's his secret?

Have an awesome Memorial Day weekend!

You and Jess have a good life and happy marriage. That is so wonderful! I am sure the party will be lots of fun and enhanced by the great video you are making to highlight their lives together. Thanks for doing that. It is a great testament to the love and respect you have for them. BIG HUGS

Mom, I don't think he needed reminded, but sometimes I like to tell him just HOW much I love him. I always tell him I love him, but sometimes it's nice to try to convey exactly how much (which is impossible, but I keep trying anyway...)
