Time for an interactive post. I have discovered over and over again that in my life songs have a much deeper meaning than the notes, beats, and lyrics that make up it's recipe. I was given a collection of 4 mixtapes on CD recently and they were a musical autobiography of the person who gifted me said CD's. I started thinking bout my own soundtrack to life and this is what I came up with. I had to limit myself to 13 tracks cause I wanted my soundtrack up to this point to be one whole CD. And there had to be at least a couple of songs from before 2006 cause it has been a long 27 years and they all deserve to be represented as best as I can recall. So, play along everyone and tell all what is your soundtrack. Mine is quite the collection, but fitting.
1. Nas - One Mic
2. Evanescence - Bring me to life
3. Shaquille O'Neal - I know I got Skillz
4. Hoobastank - The Reason
5. Nelly and Kelly Rowland - Dilemma
6. Mario - You should let me love you
7. Montell Jordan - This is how we do it
8. 2Pac - Ambitionz az a Ridah
9. Denis Leary - Lock n' Load
10. Shawn Michaels - Sexy Boy
11. LL Cool J - 4,3,2,1
12. Nsync - I thought she knew
13. Lloyd and Ashanti - Southside
That bout covers it. Some are very self-explainatory. Some are a lil more personal and complicated. So are yall feeling me or what? Rabble Rock!

Hmm....let me thik about this one a bit. I definitely want to do this, but I have to give it some GOOD thought. Excellent post!
Ok...so I've given this some good thought...I definitely have to say that the entire Christina Aguilera "Stripped" cd really sums up a lot. This cd is my inspiration and really makes me feel better if I'm having a bad day or even to just pump me up a bit. It really describes the feelings that I have on a day to day basis. If I have to pick a few favorites they would be:
1. Cruz
2. Stripped Part 2
3. Keep On Singin My Song
Then there is also:
Destiny's Child - Survivor
After the shit that I went through in high school the last 2 songs are to all those JACKASS people who tried to pull me down, but look at me today I'm going to be graduating soon and they're not doing shit!
Sorry I had to vent a little bit.
Just had to say congrats Cassie on the graduation coming up and all. Also, I got my copy of Stripped in my car too. Even if I dig Christina for some extra reasons, that album is the real deal. Yes I am gay so what?! hehe
AAww Rich I don't think you're gay for likin Christina that's awesome, and you know the cd is awesome too. This was a lot of fun like my brother said Exellent post! I do always like them.

Fraggle Rock!
You guys are great for even coming up with some. Ever since I have read this post and discussed this with Cassie I have been racking my brain. It's interesting because music really can be such a personal thing but I don't ever think I have related to one song or another. I like all kinds. Some touch me more than others for various reasons but to put together a list like you guys have is definitely something to think about. I know after this I will definitely put a little more thought into the "whole" song.
In no particular order...
Name - Goo Goo Dolls
Sweet Child of Mine - GNR
Wide Open Spaces - Dixie Chicks
Simple Days - Babyface
Ray of Light - Madonna
Uptown Girl - Billy Joel
Somebody to Love - Queen
Plush - STP
Bitter Sweet Symphony - Verve
Islands in the Stream - Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers
No Scrubs - TLC
Landslide - Fleetwood Mac
When You Say Nothing at All - Alison Krauss
I've been thinking about this since I read it and here goes...
1. Lay Lady Lay - Bob Dillon
2. One Less Bell to Answer - Marilyn McCoo
3. Tightrope - Leon Russell
4. That Man of Mine - Barbra Streisand
5. Just The Way You Are - Billy Joel
6. Evergreen - Barbra Streisand
7. Superman - Barbra Streisand
I hit enter too soon then got busy at work. Here are 8 - 10
8. She Works Hard For The Money - Donna Summer
9. Gloria - Laura Branigan
10. I Only Want to Be With You - Dusty Springfield.
There were so many songs to choose from and having to pick just a few was hard. This is a cross section of my life from age 18 - 50.
Thanks, that was fun.
First I must give big ups to Rich for coming up with a post that generated comments. Lately Man and I have been thinking people stopped reading the blog because nobody's been commenting. It's good to see that everybody is still alive and well...
Second I must give big ups to Rich for writing such a thought provoking and inspiring post. It took me a long time and a lot of thought (my brain kinda hurts now, thanks) to come up with my soundtrack, and here it is, in alphabetical order by artist:
1. I Don't Want To Miss A Thing - Aerosmith
2. No Rain - Blind Melon
3. I Feel Love - Blue Man Group
4. Roxie - Chicago Soundtrack
5. Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) - Green Day
6. Lonely Road Of Faith - Kid Rock
7. Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
8. Angel With The Scabbed Wings - Marilyn Manson
9. Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
10. Dig - Mudvayne
11. Where Did You Sleep Last Night - Nirvana (covered during MTV Unplugged)
12. DeDoDoDo DeDaDaDa - The Police
13. Losing My Religion - REM
14. She's A Beauty - The Tubes
good job all of you. Like I said it was hard for me to think because I never really put any thought to it but it gives me inspiration.
Great job Rich!
