Cloud 9

I feel like I am on top of the world tonight. Earlier today, my team, my Manchester United, won the Champions League final. They were crowned the best team in Europe for the third time in their history; the other crowns coming in 1968 and 1999. I remember watching the 1999 final, but I was nowhere near the fan I am now. They are my team, my favorite team out of any sport. Today, they won after a thrilling 1-1 tie that went to overtime and eventually penalty kicks where they won 6-5. The europhia of having your team win a championship is like no other. You never know when and if you will ever have a chance to win a championship. You have to seize the opportunity when you get a chance. Today, my boys did it. Today they won it and what an honor it is in the 50th anniversary of the Munich Disaster where they lost many members of their team in a plane crash. What a day. Cloud 9.......

Congratulations, but just remember, you are only 2 behind us ;)

Dunno what feed you got there, but they had Edwin Van Der Saar interviewed after the game. The first words out of his mouth? To 18million people watching at home?

"FUCKING HELL WE DID IT"

Made me chuckle.

Morrissey (one of my music idols)did a song called "Munich Air Disaster" that dealt with this topic. I believe he too is a huge Manchester United fan.

I had no idea what you were going to post!!

There was that fortunate crossbar in extra time.

I actually watched the re-airing on ESPN2. The live game happened at 2pm my time and I was at work. I enjoyed it. You will be in a good mood all day today (Thurs) and you won your bet. Life is good.

At least somebody has a favorite team that won a championship. The Indians? Nope. Bengals? Uh-uh. Congratulations on having a winning team.

I wanted Chelsea to win... I don't support them as such, I support Newcastle United (til I die) but I felt sorry for Avram Grant. He looks like he needs a cuddle.
.
But it was not to be. Well Done to Man U.
(I called over from Laurab's place, I was intrigued by the emblem.)
